HR Generalist needed for large manufacturing company is South Tampa.
Assist Employee Relations Manager in all human resources functions of five companies, comprising approximately 450 employees in 5 separate geographical locations.
Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment matters, including wage and hour laws such as overtime and minimum wage regulations, regulations applicable to employee benefits (COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA and ERISA).
Assist in controlling and monitoring vacations, leaves of absence, sick pay, workers compensation cases, holiday pay and other payroll related matters as they occur; initiate the paperwork for leaves of absence, status changes and insurance benefits; assist with employee benefits and notify the Departments of any unusual problems.
Conduct recruiting for all exempt and non-exempt personnel (including high level executives). Advertise and post for open positions; including internet and recruiters; conduct applicant reference checks and interviews; generate offer and rejection letters.
Conduct new employee orientation and training in policies and procedures. Establish and maintain employee personnel files
Assist management in planning and implementing staffing, scheduling and monitoring overall changes in headcount. Assist in ensuring that all Departments are properly staffed at all times and in controlling regular and overtime payroll within budgets.
Implement and monitor the performance appraisal program consistent with Company policy and procedures.
Assist in equal employment opportunity guidelines, including the filing of EEO-1 annual reports and maintenance of other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
Assist in employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing. Assist management in implementing human resources and procedures.
Follow through and communicate employee relations problems to the Human Resources Manager. Evaluate and take positive, consistent, disciplinary action on infractions of company policies and procedures as defined in the employee disciplinary policy. Conduct written warnings, suspensions and terminations of employees with the Human Resources Manager. Assist managers in documenting terminations of employees
Ensure proper follow-through on all directives, schedules and accounting from the Employee Relations Manager or other corporate sources. Maintain a good flow of communication with all personnel.
Develop and maintain a company wide salary administration/compensation program. This includes the analysis and design of a company-wide program establishing criteria for job levels, job titles, and financial rewards (pay and bonus ranges).
Serve as a backup to Employee Relations Manager and be fully cross trained in all HR Processes and procedure
