You will work directly with the engineering design staff to design printed circuit boards including schematic capture, library part generation, component placement, routing, and creating/maintaining production documentation. You will also perform general electronic technician tasks such as: building and trouble shooting prototypes, perform hardware testing and validation, create and maintain BOMs, procure samples and components for evaluation and building prototypes, maintain the electronics lab and equipment.
5+ years experience in PCB design (using Orcad Capture and Layout is a plus)
Proficient in the industry standards that govern Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and fabrication and associated agency certifications
Proficient in the engineering documentation requirements for PCB designs, including all facets of the CAD/CAE tools used to create such designs (schematic capture, 3D drawings, layout, library management, Gerber file generation and editing, etc.)
Proficient in interfacing with fabrication vendors for the prototyping and manufacturing of PCB designs, and understand typical PCB fabrication and assembly processes
Ability to read schematics and perform trouble shooting down to the component level
10+ years of hands on experience as electronic technician; strong hands-on aptitude is a must
Capable of managing, coordinating and maintaining design efforts in the department with respect to schematic capture, PCB layout, library management, and software licensing
Demonstrated planning and organizational skills and willingness to work effectively in a team setting
Skilled in general PC use (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
