SMU Men's Apparel Designer

Our SMU (Special Make-Up) division is growing; we are looking for an experienced men's apparel designer to join the team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design SMU product that meets specific directional goals, pricing and schedule set by high-level key accounts
- Complete tech pack for all styles
- Attend fittings and make comments during development
- Must be able to manage multiple projects on set deadlines
- Follow up with vendors
- Attend key account meetings
- Travel to trade shows and sales meetings

Requirements:
- At least 2-3 years of experience as an Apparel Designer, preferably with SMU experience in the action sports industry
- Knowledge of production methods and lead times, fabric qualities and construction required
- Advanced Illustrator, Photoshop and MS Office skills required
- Design degree preferred
- Excellent organizational and communication skills a must!
- Strong knowledge of Volcom’s target market
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Ability to work overtime as needed
