Men’s Creedlers/Technical Backpack Designer

Volcom is looking for a specialized designer with experience in the design of Men’s Footwear and Technical Backpacks, Bags and Luggage.
This position requires an individual with design experience in these categories that can step into a fast paced work environment and produce innovative styles in-step with the overall aesthetic of the entire Volcom range.
Responsibilities Include:
-Understanding of market trends, new materials and emerging technologies that are relevant to the design and development of these categories
-Communication and coordination with the Director and Merchandising Manager on the development of these categories
-The assembly of style specific, factory ready technical sketches
-Tracking and management of design projects from beginning to end.
-Evaluation of sample development with regard to design, fit and construction within the
constraints of the seasonal calendar
-Participation in sales meetings and trade shows

Skills / Requirements
Position Requirements:
-2 years experience specific to footwear and/or luggage design
-Understanding of Volcom’s target market
-The ability manage multiple projects on set deadlines
-Ability to excel under pressure and meet strict deadlines
-Ability to work overtime when necessary
-Advanced knowledge of Illustrator, PhotoShop and MS Office
-Design degree preferred
-2 years experience specific to footwear and/or luggage design
-Understanding of Volcom’s target market
